A new experience is launching in Beijing and we can’t wait to attend!
Community organizer Olivia Lamb has teamed up with Ugandan creative James Sserwadda, and Ethiopian lawyer Hannah Getachew to bring us BlackEXPO, the first Pop-up market in Beijing to showcase and celebrate Black excellence in the realms of business, creativity, and culture.
With a growing Black community in Beijing there is no time like the present to give creatives, craftsmen, bakers, and business owners from the Black diaspora a platform to connect and share their products, services and talents with the greater community.
What You Can Expect
BlackEXPO promises to be dynamic.
While the vendor application was open to all who support the community, securing one of the 30 booths available was a rigorous process. With excellence in mind the organizers curated a select collection of vendors that are diverse, eclectic, community-minded and ambitious.
The final vendor lists will be out mid-February however; organizers share that you can anticipate service providers, community oriented social enterprises, artists, hand crafted jewelers, other craft smiths, and multicultural food and beverage purveyors. There will be something of interest to everyone.
In addition to the 30 vendors that will be showcased, the ambiance will also be set by a number of surprises and cultural experiences.
What Success Looks Like
BlackEXPO intends to draw out a crowd of 300 + people. Success to the organizers is a happy crowd and proud vendors. While vendors highlighted are from the Black community, the event is a showcase for everyone in Beijing who supports Black businesses and wants to learn more about Black culture.
BlackEXPO welcomes questions from sponsors and other organizations who would like to support the event. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the organizers:
